VEGA DEL YUSO

“The land’s memory is written in the language of the roots. These roots have grown under our feet for decades. The clusters of these vines contain the ink with which we sign our Vega del Yuso, an intense wine in which the ripe, red fruits and round, polished tannins speak of the history of Ribera del Duero “.

The grapes come from old, emblematic vineyards of the Ribera del Duero region, located up to 950 meters above sea level, such as Sotillo de la Ribera, Hontoria de Valdearados and Moradillo de Roa, chosen for the features that each terroir brings to our wine.

The grapes from each of these vineyards are processed in separate tanks, in what we call plot selection. Furthermore, the wine is subject to a gentle punch-down, done by hand, with malolactic fermentation of one half of the wine in French oak barrels, where it is aged for 18 to 20 months.

The result is an intense wine, where toasty aromas envelop the very ripe red fruit, and the round and polished tannins surround the scents of the thyme and rosemary bushes that grow between the vines.
